Product Description
A trio of products designed to help nourish and support your Adrenal Gland.
The adrenal glands are small, (there are two) triangular-shaped glands located on top of each kidney. They play a crucial role in producing hormones that regulate various bodily functions, including metabolism, immune response, blood pressure, and stress response. The adrenal glands consist of two main parts: the adrenal cortex and the adrenal medulla.
-
Adrenal Cortex: This outer layer of the adrenal glands produces hormones such as cortisol, aldosterone, and sex hormones (e.g., dhea, testosterone and estrogen).
- Cortisol: Known as the "stress hormone," cortisol helps regulate metabolism, blood sugar levels, inflammation, and stress response. Its also important in our natural circadian cycle and is apart of our wake cycle.
- Aldosterone: Regulates blood pressure and electrolyte balance by controlling the amount of sodium and potassium in the body.
Adrenal fatigue, a common term used today to describe various symptoms of fatigue or even overwhelm that has been associated with an imbalance in the secretion of the hormone cortisol and DHEA. Additional symptoms include anxiety, brain fog, body aches, and sleep disturbances. Many of the symptoms associated with adrenal fatigue are also common to other health conditions, such as depression, fibromyalgia, and gut issues.
Its important to note that the body was never intended to be in a chronic state of stress and in turn cause the release of cortisol and DHEA to become diminished.
IH Factors has chosen three products to assist with feeding the adrenal gland while in a state of fatigue.
PRODUCT INFORMATION
Lipo-C
Liposomal Vitamin C has been shown to have a higher absorption percentage than the conventional water soluble Vitamin C. Vitamin C plays a crucial role in supporting the production of the hormone Cortisol. Vitamin C also plays an important role in the conversion of Cholesterol into Pregnenolone. Vitamin C also is an antioxidant and helps protect the adrenal gland as well as many other organ systems against free radicals and oxidative stress. ‡
Dosage: 1 teaspoon daily or as recommended by your physician
Mineral Complete
Multiple minerals are needed to assist the adrenal gland as well as support the production of hormones throughout the body. Magnesium is essential for the synthesis of adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH), which stimulates the adrenal glands to produce cortisol. Adequate magnesium levels are crucial for proper adrenal function and stress response. Zinc is involved in the synthesis and regulation of various hormones, including those produced by the adrenal glands. It plays a role in supporting immune function, reducing inflammation, and promoting wound healing, all of which are important for adrenal health. Selenium is a cofactor for antioxidant enzymes such as glutathione peroxidase, which helps protect the adrenal glands from oxidative damage. Selenium deficiency can impair adrenal function and may contribute to increased susceptibility to stress. Selenium deficiency also plays a role in the conversion of T4 into T3 which impacts the bodies metabolic state and sense of wellness. Potassium and sodium are electrolytes that play a crucial role in fluid balance, blood pressure regulation, and nerve function. The adrenal glands produce aldosterone, a hormone that helps regulate electrolyte balance by controlling the reabsorption of sodium and excretion of potassium in the kidneys. Copper is involved in the synthesis of neurotransmitters and the formation of connective tissue, both of which are important for adrenal health. ‡
These are just a few examples as to why Mineral Complete was chose to help in this Power Stack. ‡
Dosage: 1/2 - 1 scoop into water or other beverage daily with food or as recommended by your physician
HPA Restore
A combination herbal formula that helps rebuild and balance the adrenal gland. Licorice root (Glycyrrhiza glabra) contains active compounds called glycyrrhizic acid and glycyrrhetinic acid, which have been found to exert beneficial effects on adrenal gland function. Glycyrrhizic acid has shown to decrease the conversion of cortisol into cortisone. Cortisone is the inactive form or cortisol. Licorice root is classified as an adaptogen, a substance that helps the body adapt to stress and maintain homeostasis. Licorice root is often used to combat fatigue and promote energy and vitality. ‡
Ashwagandha and Maca have been shown to balance fatigue but also promote a sense of calm during times of high stress. Both of these herbs are classified as adaptogens which means they help the body adapt to stress. Several studies have shown that ashwagandha supplementation can help reduce cortisol levels in individuals with chronic stress and anxiety. By normalizing cortisol levels, ashwagandha may alleviate symptoms associated with adrenal fatigue, such as fatigue, insomnia, and mood disturbances. ‡
Maca is renowned for its ability to enhance energy levels, stamina, and endurance. It is rich in vitamins, minerals, and other bioactive compounds that support overall vitality and physical performance. ‡
Chronic stress can lead to dysregulation of cortisol levels, with prolonged elevation or suppression of cortisol contributing to adrenal fatigue and other health issues. Skullcap is known for its ability to promote relaxation and reduce feelings of anxiety and stress. ‡
Panax ginseng is classified as an adaptogen, a substance that helps the body adapt to stress and maintain homeostasis. Adaptogens like ginseng are believed to modulate the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis, the central stress response system in the body. By regulating the HPA axis, Panax ginseng may help reduce the negative effects of chronic stress on cortisol levels and adrenal function. ‡
Dosage: 1-2 capsules, 1-2 times per day with breakfast and/or lunch or as recommended by your physician. Do not take after 2pm as licorice may cause difficulties with sleep.
Contraindications: Caution with high blood pressure and/or edema due to licorice. If you choose to start and have a history of elevated blood pressure please monitor your blood pressure regularly. If you note increased blood pressure reads discontinue immediately. Caution with anxiety, heart palpitations & insomnia due to panax ginseng.
